Disclaimer
Plain language, kept up to date. Please read it alongside our other legal pages.
The information on cursorcustom.org is published in good faith for general informational and educational purposes. Please read this disclaimer before relying on anything you find here.
1. Affiliation
The Site is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by GitHub, Microsoft, Apple, Google, Mozilla, the developers of any browser extension (including Sweezy cursors), or any other company or product mentioned. Product names, trademarks and brands referenced on the Site belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify and describe compatibility.
The CursorX software is the work of its author, Felix Au, and is distributed under the MIT License. Cursor Custom documents the software and links to its public repository; we do not own the code and are not responsible for its development.
2. Third-party software
Download links on the Site lead to GitHub. The archive you receive is generated by GitHub from the public repository at the moment you download it, so its contents may change when the author updates the project. We describe the package as we have tested it, but we cannot guarantee that every future version will match our descriptions, screenshots or instructions.
Before running any software, review it yourself. Our download safety checklist describes how.
3. Accuracy of information
Instructions for Windows, macOS, Linux, Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Node.js reflect the versions available when each page was last updated. Menus get renamed, settings move and browser behaviour evolves. If a step no longer matches what you see, the underlying approach is usually still valid; please let us know so we can update the page.
Figures such as particle counts, frame times and system requirements are practical guidance based on our testing, not guarantees. Results depend on your hardware, browser, display and the rest of your page.
4. No professional advice
Content about accessibility, security and performance is offered as practical guidance for designers and developers. It is not legal advice and does not replace a professional accessibility audit, security review or legal opinion about the software licenses that apply to your project.
5. Use at your own risk
You are responsible for how you use the information and software referenced on the Site. Cursor Custom is not liable for any loss or damage — including data loss, system issues or effects on a website you operate — arising from following our guides or using linked software. Always keep backups and test changes in a development environment before publishing them.
6. External links
The Site contains links to external websites. We choose them carefully but have no control over their content, which may change after we link to it. A link is not an endorsement of everything on the linked site.
7. Images and illustrations
Screens, mock-ups and illustrations on the Site are original artwork created to explain cursor effects. Interface examples such as portfolio pages, stores, game landings and settings panels are illustrative designs; they do not depict real products, real businesses or real people.
8. Errors and corrections
We correct mistakes as soon as we learn about them. If you find an error, email [email protected] with the page address and a description of the problem.
9. Changes
We may update this disclaimer at any time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the current version.
