Built around the pointer
Cursor Custom exists to make interactive cursor effects understandable, testable and safe to ship.

What we do
Cursor Custom is a reference site for one open-source project: CursorX, a browser gallery of 24 interactive cursor effects created by developer Felix Au and released under the MIT license. We write the documentation around it — setup walkthroughs for Windows, macOS and Linux, comparisons with other cursor approaches, design and performance guidance — and we link to the original repository for the download.
How we work
Every instruction on this site is tested by running the package on real machines: Windows 11 laptops with integrated graphics, Apple silicon and Intel Macs, and Linux desktops with Firefox and Chromium. When we describe a fix, we have hit the problem ourselves. When we quote a requirement, it comes from the project files or from measurement, not from guesswork.
Credit where it belongs
The CursorX code, its effects and its gallery design are the work of their author. Cursor Custom does not claim ownership of that code, does not repackage it, and does not alter the download. Our download buttons point to GitHub’s own archive of the public repository so you always receive the original files.
What we will not do
- We will not wrap downloads in installers, download managers or bundled offers.
- We will not show pop-ups, interstitials or floating banners while you read.
- We will not recommend a cursor effect we would not put on our own pages.
